4 More Tips to Have a Sustainable Campus


1-Buy local & second hand items

Usually, students’ residences are semi-furnished. However, students need to manipulate some changes in them so that they can feel it as comfort as their homes. Here what you should take in consideration when doing so:

  1.     -     Support your regional economy and Buy locally, instead of shipping from outside your town. consequently, this will contribute in reducing carbon footprint.

  2.        Give priority for buying second hand items will significantly give life for the items that can still be beneficial instead of disposing them. 

2- Introduce wide- sustainable practices

There are many eco-friendly practices that can improve the environmental negative impacts caused by the huge consumption in the universities.

Moreover, there is 120 billion units of beauty industry packaging annually in the U.S. alone (stated in 2018), But the solution is our choice, try to combat this by using the natural zero waste beauty products as the bars of shampoos, conditioners and soaps that comes in plastic-free packaging.



4-Recycling:

Simply, Recycling as a concept is how to get rid of your un necessary staff but in responsible way. With no doubt, students should take in consideration how recycling contributes in obtaining a sustainable campus.

1-Always keep in mind that your continuity in doing small tips of recycling habits will surly matters, for example: The idea of the colored bins (that has signs& images showing which waste goes where) was a great contribution that reduces a lot of effort when re-sorting the bins’ wastes, but its noticeable nowadays that people are not giving due care to throw their waste in the correct bin. Just remember that it wouldn’t take 5 second thinking to throw your waste in the correct bin.

2-Recycling activates also include selling your old clothe, unwanted staff or even your old studying books. If you don’t have time or don’t know where to sell them, you can donate them to someone who can still get benefit from.

3- Recycling also can includes buying things made out of the recycled material (Containing special sign on them referring to that it’s made of recycled material), thus, Search for the eco- friendly shops near you as their price are even cheaper than the ordinary items.
